Submission Guidelines

I’m thrilled you’re interested in submitting to Boys of Narcissus. I want you to succeed and win. To make the most of your time. I’ve assembled guidelines on what works best on the Instagram page. While you can submit any aesthetic model aesthetic, the scenery and accessories of your photos should not take away from your model’s physical charm.

Best Performing Aesthetic

1. Models:

   • Age: Models should be between 18-26 years old.

   • Build: Slim or slim-athletic builds.

   • Aesthetic:

     • Olive (any origin).

     • Fair, pale (redhair, light blond).

     • Dark, brown (any origin).

   • Hair:

     • Dark hair, often curly, but any texture.

     • Red hair is also appreciated for variety.

     • Blond hair is less common, but does well.

   • Features: Thick eyebrows and a classical Greek look (like Narcissus) with striking hair and eye colors is the page archetype. However, any classical appearance works well. Here are examples of classical features from different parts of the world Europe, China. Korea  Sri Lanka, West Africa, as well as East Africa or Ethiopia-like looks. Mexican (2) and South American (2) and Brazilian (2) models register as “the new Greek” and work very well. Eastern European models often have an old world aesthetic our followers really enjoy.

2. Photo Composition:

   • Orientation: Portraits are preferred as they take up more screen space and engage viewers better than landscape orientations. We will sometimes slice landscape photos for you to create a seamless spread.

   • Focus: Full or half-body shots that are body-focused tend to perform best. Highlight unique physical features such as face, hair, eyes, and body shapes, keeping in mind many followers are models seeking validation on their looks.

   • Backgrounds: Use simple or muted backgrounds that highlight the model’s features without competing for attention. The model should not compete with styling or fashion elements. The page is model-focused first.

   • Outfit: Minimal clothing is preferred, including underwear (instagram) or artistically nude(1) photos(2). Subtle accessories that do not detract from the model’s features are acceptable.

3. Submission Process:

• File Format: Please submit high-resolution JPEG or PNG files (3550px long edge).

• Number of Images: You may submit up to 10-50 images per shoot for consideration.

• Model Release: Ensure you have a signed model release or Dmed permission for all submitted images.

• Photographer Credits: Provide your name, Instagram handle, and any other relevant credits (Styling, Mua, Agencies).

Important Notes:

• Interaction: Our audience appreciates posts that emphasize unique physical features. Avoid overly busy backgrounds or clothing that competes with the model’s natural features.

• Variety: While we have core aesthetic preferences, we encourage occasional variety to keep the content fresh and engaging, so don’t be afraid to submit models who are different from what has historically worked.
